Also known as a Peacock Spider or Peacock and Black.Few variants below,easy to tie pattern that will do for many aquatic creatures.

Hi Hubert,

I tie mine with three strands of herl, two bronze and one natural, twisted together and a dark furnace hackle.Deadly pattern on the wilder waters. I'll upload some pics when I figure out the process.

If you want to try yet another version, use a small butt of thin & stretched polythene, with black dyed peacock body (over lead wire, if you wish) ribbed with fine green wire & a natural black hackle that has only a turn or so.
